Based on a novel by W. Somerset Maugham, William Wyler’s drama stars Bette Davis as Leslie Crosbie, the malevolent wife of a Malaysian rubber magnate (Herbert Marshall) who is accused of murdering her lover and attempting to cover up the crime.
