Renowned Russian cellist Leonid Gorokhov
will present an exciting programme including works by Chopin and Poulenc. A graduate of the Rimsky-Korsokov Conservatoire, Leonid’s talent has been long internationally recognised with competition successes including the Concertino Praga, the Paris Chamber Music Prize and the Geneva Concours.

In 1991 Leonid appeared as a soloist with
the St. Petersburg Philharmonic conducted
by Lord Menuhin, who invited him to teach
at the UK Yehudi Menuhin School. Concerto opportunities with leading orchestras followed – with repertoire ranging from Haydn and Schumann to Walton and Lutoslawsky.

He is accompanied by Caroline Palmer who was born in Singapore and later studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Edith Vogel. She later continued her studies with Peter Wallfisch and Hans Keller.

Working with many chamber musician including Leonid Gorokhov, Alexander Rudin, Johannes Goritzki, Truls Mork, Enrico Dindo, Melissa Phelps, Atle Sponberg, Krzysztof Smietana, Matthias Lingenfelder, Philippe Graffin.

Recently recording the Brahms cello sonatas and Vier ernste Gesänge  with Bartholomew Lafollette .

Caroline has broadcast as a soloist for the BBC and in Europe. Her recent engagements have included performances at festivals in Norway, Germany and Switzerland.

Awarded a fellowship from  the Guildhall School, where she is a professor of Piano and Chamber Music.
