Sunday, 15 October, 11am: A Story Writing Adventure – Deborah Patterson & Nicola Chester

Calling all budding young writers! Deborah Patterson and Nicola Chester will be leading children on a story-writing adventure.

Tour the library with Nicola to find and stack books to create some ‘book spine’ poetry. Afterwards Deborah will use a classic adventure story as inspiration for some fun writing activities on the theme of ‘Journeys’, and give lots of tips and tricks along the way.

Please bring a pen. Other materials will be provided. This workshop is best for children aged 8 to 12 years. Parents can stay for the workshop if they wish.

Deborah Patterson writes and edits children’s non-fiction for UK heritage institutions including the British Library, Science Museum and the National Trust. Nicola Chester is a published nature writer, columnist, author and school librarian. Both live locally.

This is a free event but please call the bookshop on 01488 683480 to tell them you are attending
