The Medlam Family String Quartet, consisting of Lukas, Ingrid and Charles and nearly family member Mia Bodet will be joined by Hannah Medlam (soprano), and Corby Welch (tenor) from the Düsseldorf Opera, for an evening of predominantly Austrian Music, with works by Handel, Mozart, Schubert, Korngold, Ingrid Seifert and Lukas Medlam. There will also be rarely performed early twentieth century pieces for string quartet and voice by Karl Weigl and Josef Marx, who sets poems from Heyse’s “Italian Song Book”.

The significant date of the occasion will be commemorated by Ingrid Seifert’s “Where will you be?”, composed to her own poem, inspired by Sioban Coppinger’s sculpture “Blown Away”, now at the National Memorial Arboretum near Lichfield.

Press:
“The highlight of the evening was Corby Welch, who brought his patiently matured lyricism and seemingly inexhaustible reserves to this powerhouse of a role.” (Tannhäuser in Weimar)

“Hannah Medlam was in a class of her own, rising to both the dramatic and the intimate lyrical challenges, showing secure delivery throughout her range .” (Hamburg, 2017)
