The texturing he adds to the surface of the stainless steel sculptures makes their appearance change in the light, and the way they move gently in the breeze gives his large garden sculptures a life that more static pieces lack. As well as stainless steel, Ian also uses glass and Corten. There is a bold freshness in Ian’s use of modern materials to create natural forms that sit so comfortably in either traditional gardens or in much more contemporary settings. He exhibits widely and is regularly commissioned by public and corporate bodies as well as private clients.
Ian is a member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors.
